About Us
Our Vision
At Casa de Niños Bilingual Montessori School, our vision is rooted in the belief that doing great work comes from loving what you do. Founded by an AMI Montessori-trained guide, mother of four, and director since 2007, she has dedicated 17 years to shaping and enriching the lives of children. As of 2024, she will have spent her entire career in the field of childcare, reflecting a deep and enduring commitment to fostering a nurturing environment that supports each child’s holistic development. Her four children have all experienced the transformative benefits of Montessori education, further deepening her passion and understanding of this approach.
We are dedicated to fostering a love of learning by providing a carefully prepared environment that meets the unique needs of every child. We understand that a child’s desire to work is a fundamental instinct crucial for their development. By addressing each child’s physical, emotional, psychological, and spiritual needs, we help them reach their fullest potential. Our approach is inspired by Maria Montessori’s concept of the “Mathematical Mind,” which emphasizes the precision and order inherent in the human mind. We believe that through meaningful work, children build themselves and their future.
"Of all the things LOVE is the most potent."
Maria Montessori
At Casa de Niños, we are dedicated to creating a Montessori environment that is both beautiful and nurturing, designed to support each child’s growth and development. Every element in our classrooms is thoughtfully prepared with a specific purpose, aimed at enhancing different aspects of the child’s learning journey. We believe that children are naturally drawn to beauty and organization and that these elements are essential for creating a meaningful and engaging learning experience.
Dr. Maria Montessori emphasized the importance of beauty and functionality in educational materials, believing that they should be both aesthetically pleasing and purposeful. At Casa de Niños, we honor this philosophy by ensuring that our environment is both inviting and meticulously arranged. By providing a prepared space that reflects care and intention, we allow children the freedom to explore and connect with their surroundings in a way that aligns with their innate tendencies and needs. Our goal is to make the world accessible and enriching for each child, fostering their development through an environment that is as beautiful as it is educational.
Our Mission
At Casa de Niños, our mission is to foster the holistic development of each child through a Montessori education that prepares them to thrive in all aspects of life. We are dedicated to nurturing their growth with a foundation of peace and preparing them for the future. Our purpose is to serve each child with unwavering commitment, continually seeking ways to enhance their educational experience.
We create a dynamic environment that supports personal growth, academic achievement, and intellectual curiosity. Our goal is to instill in each child the intellectual, emotional, and physical resilience needed to become self-directed learners, flexible thinkers, and creative problem solvers. By cultivating their curiosity and supporting their exploration of the world, we lay the groundwork for a lifetime of learning and discovery.
A Day In A Montessori School
Entering a room at Casa de Niños is an experience of warmth and inspiration. Natural light fills the space, showcasing lovely photographs and framed artwork that enhance the environment. The room is thoughtfully equipped with scientifically informed Montessori materials, each piece crafted from high-quality natural resources and resembling works of art. Decorated with various plants and flowers, the classroom is a vibrant and dynamic place where children engage in purposeful activities.
Children work independently or in small groups, using child-sized tables, chairs, or floor rugs. Some explore different materials or activities on the child-sized shelves, while others are deeply absorbed in their tasks. Activities include polishing, painting, preparing snacks, watering plants, matching, grading knobbed cylinders or pink tower cubes, tracing sandpaper letters, labeling world maps, and learning quantities with spindle rods.
The carefully prepared environment supports considerable freedom of choice and activity, tailored to each child’s size, abilities, and needs. This environment, coupled with a community built on respect, love, and order, allows children to thrive. Montessori guides support each child’s development by connecting them with activities suited to their needs, interests, and readiness. Children progress at their own pace, building essential life skills. In our mixed-age classrooms, younger children are inspired by the advanced work of older peers, while older children reinforce their skills and boost their self-confidence by teaching the younger ones. This dynamic fosters a strong sense of community and personal growth.
Bilingual Environment
At Casa de Niños, we embrace the natural sensitivity children have to language from birth to age 8. During this crucial period, children effortlessly learn languages by associating what they hear with daily routines and the materials they interact with. Our Spanish immersion environment enhances fluency in Spanish while developing essential cognitive skills such as concentration, listening, analysis, and verbal communication.
Our bilingual staff, fluent in both Spanish and English, integrates Spanish throughout the day. Children are introduced to Spanish through songs, games, instructions, greetings, and special lessons, fostering an environment where learning multiple languages becomes a natural part of their educational experience.
